Athletics at Shorecrest
The Shorecrest Chargers Athletics Mission is to educate student-athletes through competitive opportunities and the life lessons of commitment, self-discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Participation in Chargers Athletics interscholastic teams starts in sixth grade. Nearly 70% of the Upper School student body participates in at least one sport.

The Varsity Track & Field team closed out their season earlier this month at the State Championship Meet in Jacksonville, Florida. Twelve Shorecrest athletes qualified 👏⚡️
The day of competition started with a 7th place for Sophomore Khali Cameron ‘28 jumping 2.85 meters in the pole vault and making it to the podium. That was followed up with another podium finish, 5th place for Tristan Chang ‘27, who jumped 4.05 meters. Next up was Lucy Harris ‘29 who finished 11th with a new personal best of 10.45 meters in the triple jump.
On the track, Asher Walton ‘26 finished 13th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:40.28 seconds. The girls 4x100 meter relay team which included Lucy Harris ‘29, Hayden Zielinski ‘29, Isabella Williams ‘29, and Ashlyn Beltran ‘29, made up of all freshmen, finished 3rd in their heat and 10th overall, running their fastest time of the year in 50.29 seconds.
The final event for the day was the boys 4x400 relay, including Asher Walton ‘26, Jordan Black ‘28, Justin Sephus ‘27, and Damarion Feaster ‘26. The relay team competed hard, finishing 14th with their best time of the season of 3:32.16.
Aaron Wein ‘27 set a school record in the pole vault competition at 4.21 meters, or 13.75 feet!
After the season ended, the track team gathered for their team awards party.

An incredible season came to a close this week 💚⚡ The Varsity Softball team’s postseason run ended in the Regional Semifinals, but there is so much to celebrate. From big wins to unforgettable moments, this team competed with heart all season long. A special shoutout to senior Sonia Anderson ’26 for her leadership, dedication, and impact on the program along with Head Coach Jason Taylor in his first season with the Chargers. They ended with a winning record of 12-10 overall 🥎

This season, the Varsity Girls Tennis team made Shorecrest history. They competed in the State Semifinal for the first time in 10 years!
During the match, the team fell 1-4 to Saint Andrews, however, their achievement has not gone unnoticed. “The Chargers battled gallantly and represented Shorecrest exceptionally well with team spirit and great sportswomanship,” said Coach Bob Davis.
What an extraordinary season, girls. Great work!
