Athletics at Shorecrest
The Shorecrest Chargers Athletics Mission is to educate student-athletes through competitive opportunities and the life lessons of commitment, self-discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Participation in Chargers Athletics interscholastic teams starts in sixth grade. Nearly 70% of the Upper School student body participates in at least one sport.

The Varsity Boys Lacrosse team played their final game of the season last weekend. It was “our most competitive one yet where although we did not walk away with the win we wanted, the players left knowing they gave maximum effort. We’re still a young team that needs more experience but I’m happy with the progress we’ve made,” said Coach Jonathan Laneau.

The Chargers completed a four game road trip with a 3-1 record after shutting out Northside Christian, with a final score of 12-0 👏 Madi Bidwell ‘29 pitched a complete game no-hitter as she dominated her opponents along with an impressive error-free game from the defense behind her. Offensively, the team exploded for 12 runs as Georgia S. ‘30 cleared the fence for a home-run to lead off the second inning. An inning later Lauren Sas ‘29 knocked one out of the park for a grand slam. Paige Conroy ‘29 led the team with three hits on the day with a single, double, and a triple.

Varsity Softball delivered a thrilling, come-from-behind 8–5 extra inning win over Admiral Farragut yesterday evening! Clutch hits from Sonia Anderson ‘26, Lyla C ‘31, and Madi Bidwell ‘29 sealed the victory, while Paige Conroy ‘29 and Bidwell combined for 17 strikeouts in the circle. Grit, teamwork, and a big-time finish. 💚🥎⚡

An all-around team effort led the Chargers to a 7-6 win in nine innings at Hollins.
Sonia Anderson ‘26 and Georgia S. ‘30 led the 14-hit barrage with three hits each. Anderson also led the team with two RBI on the night, one of them driving in Lauren Sas ‘29 with the decisive run in the top of the ninth inning. The pitching tandem of Madi Bidwell ‘29 and Paige Conroy ‘29 held the Hollins team in check as they combined to allow only one earned run with 13 strikeouts.
