Athletics at Shorecrest
The Shorecrest Chargers Athletics Mission is to educate student-athletes through competitive opportunities and the life lessons of commitment, self-discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Participation in Chargers Athletics interscholastic teams starts in sixth grade. Nearly 70% of the Upper School student body participates in at least one sport.
Our Middle School Green Volleyball girls opened up their season last week with a win on the road over Admiral Farragut Academy 👏🏆💚
They won 2-0. The scores of the sets were 26-24 and 25-17. Way to work hard, Chargers ⚡️

The Varsity Football team is 2-0 🏈👏
The team opened its season on the road.
During the game, “offensively, we took care of business,” said Coach Anthony McCall.
“We battled through some early mistakes, and kept the offense balanced with 125 yards through the air and 135 on the ground, while committing only one turnover.”
Ke’Mon Dent led the charge on offense with 3 rushing touchdowns and critical first down runs.
And then, the Chargers moved into their first home game of the season where fans packed the stands to cheer on the team for their 44-0 win over Donahue Academy of Ave Maria.
They are back in action this Friday in an away game against Countryside Christian Academy.

Our Swimming & Diving team began their competitive seasons strong against Berkeley Preparatory School.
The Boys won with a final score of 151 to 141 and the girls fought hard but fell, 105 to 177 ⚡️
“We were very pleased with how everyone swam at our first regular season meet,” said Coach Patty Nardozzi. “Despite not winning a lot of events we had support from the entire team to score the points needed to win on the boys side and to have a very nice showing from the girls team. We are ready to tackle the rest of the season!”

As we gather back on campus for the first day of school, here is a look back at our Summer Speed and Agility Program for Middle School and Upper School students 👟🔥
The initiative, which was new this year, was designed to provide athletes with training opportunities on the off season, focused on developing athleticism beyond sports-specific skills.
Each session was a mix of dynamic warm up, footwork drills, reaction training, bodyweight exercises and active recovery. Our athletes are jumping into the Fall season faster and stronger.
Our first home competition is this Friday. Our Varsity Swimming & Diving team will host the Green & Gold Meet. Good luck, Chargers!
