Athletic Commitment Day is a special occasion dedicated to recognizing Shorecrest student-athletes who will continue competing in their sport at the collegiate level.

Because Shorecrest athletes may sign their college commitments at different points throughout the academic year, this event provides one collective opportunity to celebrate all of our college-bound student-athletes. Held during a school day in late spring, the ceremony takes place in an assembly, with reserved seating for the families of each student-athlete. After the ceremony, families and students are invited to a reception to celebrate, take photos, and enjoy time together.

During the ceremony student-athletes who have competed on a Shorecrest team during their senior year will be seated on stage and will have their picture (including their college choice and sport) displayed on screen. Their coach will share comments about them and each student will have an opportunity to share thoughts about their journey. Student-athletes who have committed to compete at the collegiate level but did not participate on a Shorecrest team during their senior year will also be honored. Their name, photo, college and sport will be displayed on screen, and they will be recognized from a seat offstage.

We ask that each student-athlete wear a T-shirt or polo from their college/university to the event. The Athletics Department will meet with each student beforehand to review details and expectations for the day.
